for Narcolepsy
Wakix (pitolisant) tablets are used to treat excessive daytime sleepiness (EDS) and cataplexy, which are symptoms of narcolepsy, a long-term sleep disorder. Wakix works by increasing histamine levels in the brain, specifically in areas that control sleep and wakefulness, through its action on the histamine-3 (H3) receptor. This helps improve alertness and reduce cataplexy in people with narcolepsy.
