Paragard® (intrauterine copper contraceptive)

Paragard is a copper IUD (intrauterine device) that prevents pregnancy for up to 10 years. It works by releasing copper, which interferes with sperm transport, egg fertilization, and possibly prevents implantation. The small, flexible T-shaped device is inserted into the uterus by a healthcare provider and can be removed anytime if you decide to get pregnant. Paragard provides long-term contraception and does not require daily attention.
