Allergy

Allergies occur when the immune system reacts to harmless substances, known as allergens, like pollen, bee venom, pet dander, certain foods, or medications. The immune system mistakenly treats these substances as harmful, producing antibodies that trigger a reaction. This can lead to inflammation in areas like the skin, sinuses, airways, or digestive system. Reactions vary in severity, from mild irritation to life-threatening anaphylaxis.
