Atrial Fibrilation

Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is an irregular and often rapid heart rhythm, known as an arrhythmia. It causes the heart's upper chambers (atria) to beat chaotically, out of sync with the lower chambers (ventricles). AFib can lead to blood clots, increasing the risk of stroke, heart failure, and other heart issues. While many people may not experience symptoms, some may feel a fast or pounding heartbeat, shortness of breath, or light-headedness. AFib can be intermittent or persistent and requires proper treatment to prevent stroke.
