Bacterial Vaginosis

Bacterial vaginosis (BV) is a condition where the natural balance of bacteria in the vagina is disrupted, leading to discomfort and pain. It is most common during the reproductive years due to hormonal changes that allow certain bacteria to overgrow. BV is more likely in sexually active individuals, although the exact reason is unclear. Risk factors include unprotected sex and douching. Symptoms include an off-white or gray vaginal discharge with a "fishy" odor.
