Cushing Syndrome
Cushing syndrome occurs when the body has excessive cortisol for a prolonged period, either due to overproduction of cortisol or from taking glucocorticoid medications. Symptoms include a fatty hump between the shoulders, a round face, and pink or purple stretch marks. It can also lead to high blood pressure, bone loss, and in some cases, type 2 diabetes.
