Diabetes Type 2

Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body cannot properly use insulin, causing sugar to build up in the blood. This can damage organs like the eyes, kidneys, nerves, and heart. The condition happens because the pancreas doesn't produce enough insulin or the body's cells don't respond well to it. Although it can develop at any age, type 2 is more common in older adults. However, rising childhood obesity rates have led to an increase in type 2 diabetes among young people.
