Gout

Gout is a common form of arthritis that causes sudden, severe pain, swelling, redness, and tenderness in the joints, often starting in the big toe. It occurs when excess uric acid in the body forms sharp crystals in the joints. Gout attacks can happen suddenly, often at night, causing intense discomfort, with even light pressure, like a bedsheet, feeling painful. These flare-ups of symptoms come and go in episodically.
