Hemophilia

Hemophilia is a rare genetic disorder where the blood doesn't clot properly due to a lack of clotting factors, proteins that help form blood clots. This results in prolonged bleeding after injury and an increased risk of internal bleeding, particularly in joints like the knees, ankles, and elbows. Internal bleeding can be life-threatening and cause organ or tissue damage. Hemophilia is inherited and can range in severity (severe, moderate, or mild) based on clotting factor levels in the blood.
