Cholesterol Hyperlipidemia

Hyperlipidemia, or high cholesterol, occurs when there are too many lipids (fats) in the blood. High levels of cholesterol (especially above 200 mg/dL) can block arteries, reducing blood flow to vital organs. This is particularly dangerous when bad cholesterol (LDL) builds up in blood vessels, forming plaque. This plaque narrows the arteries and can lead to blood clots, increasing the risk of strokes or heart attacks.
