Lupus

Lupus is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks the body's organs and tissues, causing inflammation. It can affect the skin, joints, blood, and vital organs like the kidneys, lungs, and heart. A common symptom is a butterfly-shaped rash across the cheeks, though not everyone with lupus experiences it. Genetics, infections, certain medications, and sunlight can trigger lupus in people predisposed to the condition.
