Multiple Myeloma
Multiple myeloma is a cancer that develops in plasma cells, a type of white blood cell that helps fight infections by producing antibodies. In this condition, cancerous plasma cells accumulate in the bone marrow, where blood cells are produced, crowding out healthy cells. These cancer cells produce abnormal proteins instead of functional antibodies, leading to a range of health problems. This can affect the bones, kidneys, and the body's ability to produce healthy blood cells and platelets.
