Myelofibrosis MF

Myelofibrosis is a rare bone marrow cancer that disrupts normal blood cell production, causing extensive scarring in the bone marrow. This leads to severe anemia, weakness, fatigue, and a low platelet count, increasing the risk of bleeding. It often results in an enlarged spleen. Classified as a chronic leukemia, myelofibrosis is part of a group of diseases known as myeloproliferative disorders, where the bone marrow produces too many blood cells. A mutation in a stem cell’s DNA causes it to become defective, multiplying and passing on the mutation.
