Transthyretin Amyloid Cardiomyopathy ATTR CM

Transthyretin amyloidosis (ATTR-CM) is a condition where the liver produces faulty transthyretin (TTR) proteins. These abnormal proteins form clumps, known as fibrils, which accumulate in the heart's left ventricle. This buildup makes the heart muscle stiff and weak, impairing its ability to pump blood effectively. As a result, heart failure can develop.
