Urinary Tract Infection UTI

A urinary tract infection (UTI) is an infection that affects any part of the urinary system, including the kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra. Most UTIs involve the lower urinary tract, particularly the bladder and urethra. Women are at a higher risk than men. While bladder infections are often painful and bothersome, UTIs can lead to serious complications if they spread to the kidneys. E. coli bacteria are the most common cause. Symptoms include frequent urination, pain while urinating, and discomfort in the side or lower back.
