Adempas® (riociguat)
for Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension
Adempas (riociguat) is used to treat chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) in patients who cannot undergo surgery, or those with persistent symptoms after surgery. It is also used for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH). Riociguat works by relaxing and widening blood vessels in the lungs, improving blood flow and lowering lung blood pressure. This reduces strain on the heart, enhances exercise capacity, and helps prevent PAH from worsening.
