Annovera (segesterone acetate and ethinyl estradiol vaginal system) is a silicone vaginal ring that releases two hormones, segesterone acetate (a progestin) and ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen), into the bloodstream. Used as contraception, it prevents pregnancy by inhibiting ovulation (the release of an egg from the ovaries). Annovera is a reusable ring that is inserted into the vagina and provides continuous, controlled hormone release.
