Aptiom (eslicarbazepine acetate) is an anticonvulsant used alone or with other medications to treat partial-onset seizures in adults and children aged 4 and older. It works by reducing nerve impulses that cause seizures and pain. Eslicarbazepine, an anticonvulsant, helps decrease the frequency of focal seizures, a type of seizure disorder, and may reduce the number of seizures experienced by patients.
