Duopa (carbidopa and levodopa) enteral suspension is a gel used to treat movement problems in advanced Parkinson's disease. It delivers a constant dose of carbidopa and levodopa directly to the small intestine via an infusion pump, bypassing the stomach. This method reduces "off time" and improves the effectiveness of the medicine. Carbidopa prevents levodopa breakdown, allowing it to convert to dopamine in the brain, helping manage Parkinson's symptoms.
