Firazyr® (icatibant)

Firazyr (icatibant) is used to treat acute attacks of hereditary angioedema (HAE) in adults. It works by blocking the bradykinin B2 receptor, which prevents bradykinin—a substance that causes swelling, inflammation, and pain—from triggering HAE symptoms. By interfering with this pathway, Firazyr helps relieve the swelling and discomfort associated with sudden HAE attacks.
