Flomax (tamsulosin hydrochloride) is an alpha-blocker used to treat benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) by relaxing the smooth muscles of the prostate and bladder. It helps improve urinary symptoms such as frequent or urgent need to urinate, weak urine stream, difficulty starting or stopping urination, and incomplete bladder emptying.
