for Hereditary Angioedema
Haegarda is a subcutaneous C1 esterase inhibitor used to treat acute hereditary angioedema (HAE) attacks in adults and children. HAE is a genetic condition caused by low levels or dysfunction of C1-inhibitor, leading to sudden swelling in areas like the face, throat, abdomen, or limbs. Haegarda is a man-made form of this protein and works by raising C1-inhibitor levels in the blood to help control and relieve swelling during an HAE attack.
