Imcivree® (setmelanotide)

Imcivree (setmelanotide) is used in adults and children 2+ with obesity due to genetic conditions like POMC, PCSK1, or LEPR deficiency, or Bardet-Biedl syndrome (BBS), to help with weight loss and maintenance. Genetic testing is required to confirm POMC, PCSK1, or LEPR deficiency before starting treatment. Imcivree works by controlling appetite, reducing hunger, and increasing calorie burning. It is not for use in obesity not linked to these specific genetic conditions or BBS.
