Kyleena® (levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system)
for Pregnancy Prevention

Kyleena (levonorgestrel-releasing intrauterine system) is a small, flexible T-shaped device that contains 19.5 mg of levonorgestrel, a hormone that makes it harder for sperm to reach the uterus and prevents a fertilized egg from attaching. The device is placed in the uterus by a healthcare provider and slowly releases levonorgestrel, preventing pregnancy for up to 5 years. It does not contain estrogen and is not intended for emergency contraception.
