Lo Loestrin Fe (norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol tablets, along with ferrous fumarate tablets) is a low-dose birth control pill that helps prevent pregnancy. It contains two female hormones: ethinyl estradiol (an estrogen) and norethindrone acetate (a progestin). Lo Loestrin Fe works by suppressing ovulation, thickening cervical mucus to prevent sperm from reaching an egg, and thinning the uterine lining to reduce the chance of implantation.
