for Pancreatic Cancer
Lutathera (lutetium Lu 177 dotatate) is a targeted radiotherapy used to treat neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) in the gastrointestinal tract, specifically gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (GEP-NETs). It delivers targeted radiation directly to tumors that have somatostatin receptors on their surface. Lutathera binds to these receptors (SSTR2), delivering controlled radiation that damages the tumor cells, slowing tumor progression and promoting cell death.
