Montelukast is a medication that helps reduce inflammation and can prevent asthma attacks in adults and children aged 2 and older. It is also used to prevent exercise-induced bronchoconstriction (exercise-induced asthma) in those 6 years and older. Additionally, it may be used to treat seasonal or year-round allergies in individuals aged 2 and up when other treatments have been ineffective.
