Nexium® (esomeprazole magnesium)
for Gastroesophageal reflux disease
Nexium (esomeprazole magnesium) is a proton pump inhibitor that reduces stomach acid production. It is used to treat gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and other conditions involving excessive stomach acid. Nexium also promotes the healing of erosive esophagitis and may help prevent gastric ulcers caused by Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
