Olumiant® (baricitinib)

Olumiant (baricitinib), a Janus kinase inhibitor (JAK inhibitor), is a medication used to treat rheumatoid arthritis, severe alopecia areata (hair loss), and COVID-19 in certain patients. It works by blocking a protein (Janus kinase) that causes inflammation, which helps alleviate symptoms of these conditions. In alopecia areata, Olumiant reduces inflammation in hair follicles, promoting hair regrowth, but it is not a cure.
