Rytary® (carbidopa and levodopa)
for Parkinson’s Disease
Rytary (carbidopa and levodopa) is an extended-release capsule used to treat symptoms of Parkinson's disease, such as muscle stiffness, tremors, and spasms. It also helps treat symptoms caused by carbon monoxide poisoning or manganese intoxication. Levodopa is converted into dopamine in the brain, but it breaks down too quickly on its own. Carbidopa blocks this breakdown, allowing more dopamine to reach the brain, improving movement in people with Parkinson's disease.
