Siponimod is used in adults to treat relapsing multiple sclerosis (MS) in patients with a specific genotype. While it is not a cure for MS, it works by preventing immune system cells (lymphocytes) from attacking the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. Siponimod helps reduce relapses and may prevent or delay the progression of disability associated with MS.
