Vraylar® (cariprazine)
for Bipolar Depression
Vraylar (cariprazine) is an atypical antipsychotic used to treat bipolar I disorder, major depressive disorder (MDD), and schizophrenia. It helps improve symptoms of depression in bipolar disorder and MDD, and psychiatric symptoms in schizophrenia. Vraylar is thought to work by balancing serotonin and dopamine levels in the brain. Its mechanism of action involves partial agonist activity at dopamine D₂ and serotonin 5-HT1A receptors and antagonist activity at serotonin 5-HT2A receptors.
