Winlevi (clascoterone) cream is a prescription medication for treating acne vulgaris, featuring clascoterone, an androgen receptor inhibitor also known as cortexolone 17α-propionate. It works by blocking androgen receptors in the skin’s sebaceous glands and hair follicles, which is believed to reduce oil (sebum) production and inflammation, thereby improving acne. It was FDA-approved for topical use in patients aged 12 and older.
