Xeljanz (tofacitinib) is an oral JAK inhibitor used to treat conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, ulcerative colitis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It works by blocking JAK enzymes (JAK1, JAK2, JAK3, TYK2) inside cells, which are responsible for sending inflammatory signals that trigger cytokine release.
