Xolair® (omalizumab)
for Allergy
Xolair (omalizumab) injection is used to reduce the risk of severe food allergy reactions (anaphylaxis) and to improve allergic asthma, nasal polyps, and chronic hives. It is a preventative treatment that helps alleviate allergy symptoms but is not for treating acute asthma or emergency allergic reactions. Xolair is administered via an injection every 2 to 4 weeks, either using a self-injection pen or prefilled syringe. It works by blocking the IgE protein in the immune system, reducing allergy symptoms.
