Coreg® (carvedilol)

Coreg (carvedilol) is used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure, and to improve survival after a heart attack in people with reduced heart function. It works by blocking beta-1 receptors in the heart and alpha-1 receptors in blood vessels, preventing catecholamines from increasing heart rate and constricting blood vessels. This helps slow the heart rate, lower blood pressure, and reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke.
